ITS BEEN 4 OR 5 DAYS
I TOLD YOU THAT IM CHANGING MY WAYS
BABY DON’T YOU HEAR ME CALLING?
BABY DON’T YOU HEAR ME…
I KNOW SOMETIMES I TAKE IT TOO FAR
YOU’RE RIGHT GIRL, I KNOW THAT YOU ARE
BUT IT DON’T HELP THAT WE’RE NOT SPEAKING
TELL THE CAPTAIN THIS BOAT IS SINKING
I’LL TAKE A BOW
I’LL TAKE A KNEE
I’M BEGGING YOU
TO HEAR ME PLEASE
I’LL HIT THE ROAD
I’LL UP AND LEAVE
I’M BEGGING YOU
TO HEAR ME PLEASE
BABY CAN WE WORK THIS OUT?
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
FOR THE LOVE OF ME
I’M ON MY HANDS
I’M ON MY KNEES
BABY DON’T YOU HEAR ME CALLING?
BABY DON’T YOU HEAR ME…

And the night comes so slowly
Back in the day when everything was young
In the darkener corners she would learn to use her tongue
she'd run it back and forth like no other
And she'd tell the men she should learn to be a better mother
That's the way it goes sometimes
Down town where nobody is your lover
you can get just what you need when you pay her a little more money
she'll take the knee
Such a dirty girl so young and sweet
She begged for money and give the boys a treat
They would run and tell their friends
and they would come crawling to her
She would take them 2 or 3 together and leave them screaming
just dreaming to do it again
Down town where nobody is your lover
you can get just what you need when you pay her a little more money
she'll take the knee
She'll take the knee
Some say it was for money
Some say she kinda liked it
Some say it was addiction
But you got what you wanted
Down town where nobody is your lover
you can get just what you need when you pay her a little more money
she'll take the knee

when someone got hurt when I played sports
we took a knee to show support
guess we don’t do that anymore
no people just want to point and bitch
and say he should be thankful cause he is rich
but I don’t think that tells us the whole story
cause I’ve never been pulled for being black
or had to tell my children that if you are
Just pray up to the Lord
yeah, it seems today instead of Love
we choose to push and then to shove
but I think today I’m ending that for sure
I choose to take a knee
Man.. I’m not dissing upon the flag
or the people who served just like my dad
no I’m just saying that I see
That things aren’t right across this land
and maybe if I do not stand
then others will listen just like me
I choose to take a knee
when someone got hurt when I played sports
we took a knee to show support
guess we don’t do that anymore
no people just want to point and bitch
and say he should be thankful cause he is rich
but I don’t think that tells us the whole story
cause I’ve never been pulled for being black
or had to tell my children that if you are
Just pray up to the Lord
yeah, it seems today instead of Love
we choose to push and then to shove
I think today I’m ending that for sure
I choose to take a knee
I choose to take a knee
I choose to take a knee

Take an arm, take a leg, take a hand, take my head
Take a foot, take a knee, take an ear, take me dead
You can take it all when I'm gone
Take my car, take my clothes, take my spirit, take my chains
Take my wealth, take my debt, take my knowledge, take my pain
You can take it all when I'm gone
Take a look, take your time, I don't mind, what you make
In this life, you will learn that it's what you give not what you take
You can take it all when I'm gone

Born into privilege
Invisible skin
Blind to the struggle
An ignorant sin
Born into mistrust
Too much melanin
Needlessly struggles
Against assumed sin
Sometimes to take a stand
You have to take a knee
We need to stand together
Come on kneel with me
Some folks miss the point
Jump to disrespect
Perhaps they're uncomfortable
With a reality check
I'm on your side
Always try to see
The essence of the person
Not just what seems to be
Sometimes to take a stand
You have to take a knee
We need to stand together
Come on kneel with me

AG Y'all - Take a Knee

Time to take a stand
Time to take a knee
Time to search our history books
Time for breaking free
Never been a perfect place
At least we had our hope
Now we're ruled by lunacy
A self/inflated dope
What is worth fighting for?
What is worth llving for?
So much in a word
So much less to say
So much for your winning
White supremacy
Hard to see the lining
Quick to let it rip
Hopefully the last stand
In this ego trip

One of the good ones
Always ready to take a knee
Kindest of hearts
global sympathy
Left us all too early
Just found out today
Cannot put together
Worthy words to say
Some people radiate
The brightest glow from within
Light up anyone nearby
Like reflection of the sun
A rare gift for the few
The rest of us will cherish
Grateful for the moments
We we were able to relish
And relish we will
Like dolphins in the sea
Like children on a playground
In magnificent peace

Take a knee for Rita
Take some honey if you want something sweeter
To get you through the day you might have had
Take a knee for peace
Take a pill if you need release
From the story that you might have thought you'd planned
Before you run for cover you should know that there's no other
Time or place for you to make a stand
And if you ever wonder 'bout this spell that you are under
Open up and question why you ran
Take a knee for Rita
Take a look inside if you stop believin'
In the things that used to bring you joy
Take a knee in protest
Take a look, decide if we're the best
That we can be and, if not, make some noise
Before you run for cover you should know that there's no other
Time or place for you to make a stand
And if you ever wonder 'bout this spell that you are under
Open up and question why you ran
