Some times it feels too dark to see Some days the smoke’s too thick to breathe Try to look for answers, or a reason why Chase our better angels high into the sky Shine a light (on the future) Shine a light (on the pain! Shine a light for all those losers who just wanna love again Shine a light (second chances) Shine a light on those who hate O, o, o, o, oh - it’s not too late Feels like the cold is closing in Fear that the devils gonna win Trust in keeping promises, smile and raise our hands Peace, respect and dignity - that’s what we demand! Shine a light (on the future) Shine a light (on the pain! Shine a light for all those losers who just wanna love again Shine a light (second chances) Shine a light on those who hate O, o, o, o, oh - it’s not too late

words (not of wisdom - that well’s run dry) hurt or heal (not much of one as these days go by) time (can heal some wounds- if both sides will try) but not fear (once it grabs hold it does not subside) try these words on now for size peace understanding and hope cause we are all a bit different inside try these words on now for size peace understanding and hope cause we are all a bit different inside words (not of wisdom - that well’s run dry) hurt or heal (not much of one as these days go by) try these words on now for size peace understanding and hope cause we are all a bit different inside

who are you people? where are you from? I don’t remember you at all this ain’t the party I signed up for here, with our backs against the wall because the ones who have the least to say they say it loud as guns and the ones who have the most to lose they always are the ones that have enough to do without just sitting ‘round and talking smack and god forbid that you should ever hear ‘em talking back ‘cause you’ve shown your hand and you’ve shown your mettle you’ve slammed your foot on the wrong damn pedal you’ve had your chance for a sympathetic stance the words you wrote just made you drunker the shots you fire behind the bunker you keep your distance the world at bay you make it easier to say that you’ve got yours, Jack and I’ve got some nerve we always get what we deserve I’m all for devil’s advocate and working through the scrum but there’s time for talk and time to cut the crap, stop playing dumb ‘cause you love to get ‘em riled up and you love to lead the charge but once the torches all get lit it’s your integrity at large ‘cause you’ve shown your hand and you’ve shown your mettle you’ve slammed your foot on the wrong damn pedal you’ve had your chance for a sympathetic stance the words you wrote just made you drunker the shots you fire behind the bunker

With each passing year Ideologies fade Like an eroding hillside That didn’t make the grade I thought colored was a thing of the past Waning with the aging Generational gap But I was mislead What goes on in your head? Are you out of your mind? I used to be an optimist  Wearing a smile of confidence  That the world was gonna change That everything would be ok I thought that we all had a choice I thought we all had a voice  I thought you’d taken ignorance  And doused with gasoline  Please help me while I try To understand the reasons why Are you out of your mind?
5.
Who am I I can’t remember Did I have a certain agenda Once upon a time I was an honest man Then I became a politician There I go I’ll shake any ones hand Did you know I was running a new scam In the middle of the night a had a dream That I was cooking up another scheme Beware of the elephant Beware of the elephant Beware of the elephant Never trust the elephant WHO AM I ..WELL I CAN’T REMEMBER WAS IT I WHO HAD A SECRET AGENDA TRY TO HOLD ME TO THE THE PROMISES I MADE NOT A CHANCE I’VE GOT A ROUND OF GOLF TO PLAY WHO AM I WHO AM I WELL CAN’T REMEMBER I HEAR THE CRYING OF PEOPLE OUTSIDE I HEAR THE HOWLING OF THE ANIMALS? I STAND BESIDE
