Was it something that I said or was it just that you changed your mind was it something that I did or did you just find Something better and decide to leave the plans we made were fantasy or were the words we said always a lie does it hurt to say goodbye? It's one for the heart and one for the head when you leave, make sure the love is dead don't leave me wondering what I could have said or if there is a chance in times ahead it's one for the heart and one for the head I didn't mean to love you but somehow you took my heart I tried not to think about you but my mind was hooked from the start I gave you both my mind and soul the words you said made me whole it's something that I can't give back you took them both and didn't even ask it's one for the heart one for the head when you leave, make sure the love is dead don't leave me wondering what I could have said or if there is a chance in times ahead it's one for the heart and one for the head

Walk in darkness, live for night Ride at midnight, hold on tight Embrace your demons, set them free Come fulfill your destiny! Metal mind Metal mind Slave to leather, chrome and steel Drank too much, to even feel Scream for vengeance, fight or flee Savor this insanity! Metal mind Metal mind Live for pleasure, lust for loot Never find me, in a 3 piece suit Dark as midnight, all I see Hell, high water, then the deep blue sea

as old as desert dust sword will run to rust before the riddle’s solving the distance in the blood the flicker in the flood the mighty world’s revolving oh, two-hearted love you want too much the spirit and the spark oh, two-hearted love for breath nor touch to leave your light in dark it’s Adam’s curse foretold what you want, you’ll never hold in the center of the starlight the pedestal’s cold shrine when you cross the county line never felt the frostbite oh, two-hearted love you want too much the spirit and the spark oh, two-hearted love for breath nor touch to leave your light in dark

A Happy Man He was such a happy man A book of matches and a fresh cigar A glass of brandy in his hand He was such a happy man He was such a happy man Drapes his self upon a favorite Chair Blows smoke rings in the air He was such a happy man I don’t mind I don’t mind The old man sings His winter song I don’t mind I don’t mind the old man sighs And carry’s on He was such a happy man Serenades the people on the bridge Waves approval with his hand He was such a happy man He was such a happy man Spies upon the laughing lunatic Who hears the voices in his head Sees the devil has a plan I don’t mind I don’t mind The old man sings His winter song I don’t mind I don’t mind the old man sighs And carry’s on He was such a happy man He hears the music of a Baltic Waltz He buys a round for the band He was such a happy man He was such a happy man spreads the saw dust on the wooden floor bar maid standing by the door he was such a happy man I don’t mind I don’t mind The old man sings His winter song I don’t mind I don’t mind the old man sighs And carry’s on

Escher baby Until we modulate in harmony

Gotta save your money don’t mess around Gotta save your money don’t mess around Don’t spend it on things that you don’t need Like Bubble Gum, toys and junk food to eat Give it to mom and daddy if you need to Put in the piggy bank if you need to You’re gonna go to college then get a job You’ll retire early if you’re a smart one Don’t spend your money Save it for a rainy day

Baby I am poor - dirtbag poor I sleep on a mattress on my dirt bag floor I've got a landlord banging all day on my dirt bag door Baby I'm broke- dirtbag broke on the punchline of your dirt bag joke but that's fine because I come from a proud line of dirt bag folk And I've got three zeros sitting on my balance sheet but still I'm sipping in the VIP Because I may be all out of cash but baby you don't have to ask Cuz I already bought you that new dress honey don't you know we're living on dirt bag money They say it's American excess but I'm paying with American Express Lady liberty show me that you love me give me all of that dirt bag money Baby I'm rich - dirtbag Rich I got my pick up truck stuck in the dirt bag ditch with my truck nuts and speedboat hanging from my dirtbag hitch Baby I'm flush- dirt bag flush I got a camo couch and it's dirt bag plush I got a hot tub outside my double wide to give it that dirt bag touch And I've got three zeros sitting on my balance sheet but still I'm sipping in the VIP Because I may be all out of cash but baby you don't have to ask Cuz I already bought you that new dress honey don't you know we're living on dirt bag money They say it's American excess but I'm paying with American Express Lady liberty show me that you love me give me all of that dirt bag... I'm blowing my credit as fast as I can get it so I'm sorry to the card companies but you should know better than to give a dirt bag money Because I may be all out of cash but baby you don't have to ask Cuz I already bought you that new dress honey don't you know we're living on dirt bag money They say it's American excess but I'm paying with American Express Lady liberty show me that you love me give me all of that dirt bag money

We all got high hopes We all wanna make it To the top of the world

about

The assignment this week is from Mitchell Snow:

"It's easy to get stuck in a rut. I know. I've been writing and re-writing the same songs for so long, that I started numbering some of them instead of titling them. The last round I was in, I felt so bored of my own work, that I decided to ditch every element I considered signature or recognizable to my sound. I laid down my dark, rambling, acoustic based story songs and picked up reverb drenched, shoegaze-y, dream-pop tunes. To me, it was a pretty big departure.
Don't write the kind of song you would normally write. Forget the genre you usually operate in. Completely reimagine yourself as a different kind of songwriter than you are. Create a persona - invent a character. What does their music sound like?”
