All the wasted time
The wrong way down
got turned around
Through the looking glass again
And when the lights go dim
What you thought you saw
As a tragic flaw
it was just your last amen
All that peace
You could have had
Drift away like smoke rings
Came so close but lost the final clue
But don’t give up
I could be wrong
But I’ll be right here, waiting
Maybe there’s still time for you
the lengths you’ve gone
just to get what you wanted
The tricks you tried
You can run
To the end of time but
you can’t hide
And in the moment’s heat
You changed your mind
You were city blind
You were shooting from the hip
But now it won’t be long
Gonna realize
coulda won the prize
It was just a switch you flip
All that peace
You could have had
Drift away like smoke rings
Came so close but lost the final clue
But don’t give up
I could be wrong
But I’ll be right here, waiting
Maybe there’s still time for you
the lengths you’ve gone
just to get what you wanted
The tricks you tried
You can run
To the end of time but
you can’t hide

Everything comes around
Always chasing
Everything happens now
Other worlds wasting
It goes around
Round and round
Everything going down
Poor young mister dean
Everything breaking down
Just riding the beam
It goes around
Round and round
It goes around
Round and round
Everything lost is found
Going up in flames
Everything hurt is drowned
Do not speak the names
It goes around
Round and round
It goes around
Round and round
Everything underground
You don’t have to hide
Everything so profound
‘Cause everyone dies
It goes around
Round and round
It goes around
Round and round
Defeat the king
And you will bring
It all around and round
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round

Tokai Gurashi
by Shu Nakamura 2021
Before I knew it, I got used to everyday life in the city
People say they can't go back to their hometown’s society anymore
Every day of city life is sometimes colorful and sometimes monochrome
If you notice, you are totally dyed with a subtle color that you can't really describe
A chaotic society that keeps changing but flowing so easily
I don't even know if it's evolution or degeneration
Speaking of urban life, it sure sounds cool
But it's a big difference between success and just hanging
Ah city life, is it the same as what I envisioned before?
Ah this city life, am I still chasing a dream?

Modern world what have we become
With tall buildings and machinery in flight
Modern world your technology
Confuses us and makes us feel complete
I never close my eyes
I never close my eyes
Modern world you so beautiful
You came in naked as the sun
Modern world you know no enemies
You are a starlight city in the sky
Stay inside my heart
Stay inside my heart for a while
Times are changing, Times are changing now
Get on, or get out of the way
We won’t go back to a time before
This modern world was helping us get by
Modern world uses chemicals
To silence to kill when we’re afraid
Stay inside my heart
Stay inside my heart for a while
Times are changing, Times are changing now
Get on, or get out of the way
We won’t go back to a time before
This modern world was helping us get by
Many will come as many came before
They will live They will die
We won’t go back to a time before
This modern world was helping us get by

In The City
Does it seem so long ago
Yesterday or maybe no
can’t remember can’t recall
I just don’t know
Saw it there out in the void
Out of focus polaroid
Trapped inside a haunted house
like an android
Everyone is at the scene in the City
Everyone is at the scene in the City
People looking so destroyed
Standing round unemployed
air pollution every where you go
Yellow Taxis in a row
Politicians getting low
Mattress on a fire escape
Cause theres no escape
Everyone is at the scene in the City
Everyone is at the scene in the City
Does it seem so long ago
Yesterday or maybe no
can’t remember can’t recall
I just don’t know
Saw it there out in the void
Out of focus polaroid
Trapped inside a haunted house
like an android
Everyone is at the scene in the City
Everyone is at the scene in the City

The rocket, the rocket, the rocket is breathing
The rocket, the rocket, the rocket is leaving
From the outskirts of your city
To the center of the town
I'd like to invite you with me for the touch down
The splashdown

To the center of the town
I'd like to invite you with me for the touch down
The splashdown

Any mistake might be fatal
Any misstep results in fire
This machine is surely capable of taking you higher
Oh, the stories that you will tell when you finally retire

Luke Payne - The City

The city was alive beneath its concrete and steel
It was buzzing on caffeine and little blue pills
It was hurting inside but it wore a game face
As it thought about moving to a new place
The city was ablaze with a new kind of love
Had to go under, around and above
Thirsty to find that magical touch
Never enough but it was always too much
Can you just hold me in your heart tonight
send me a signal through the fading light
There was a time, or was it just a dream
When it was all so quiet as a mountain stream
Peace in the valley and calm on hill
Before they came with plow and the mill
Soon the city took on all the familiar tropes
Overpriced apartments on stock market slopes
All twisted in a tangle of fiber optic thread
Painted over with a million coats of red
Can’t you just hold me in your arms tonight
stay here beside me through the fading light
Can you just give me every single thing
Seal it with a kiss and sign it with a ring
Every song is love song
If you listen close
Every heart is a bleeding heart
That’s the way, just the way x 2 ....it grows
The city had potholes and pitfalls and a crumbling overpass
It was covered in graffiti and broken glass
Rusting wrought iron rails passing through
Streets that were lined with lost revenue
But the city had a song humming in it’s wires
Made of moonbeams and madness and cleansing fire
There were violins, cellos and violas too
And the melody was stickier than crazy glue
Can’t you just hold me in your arms tonight
Can’t stay beside through the fading light
