Seen a lotta road in Texas
Chased a lotta trouble in heels
All rocked out and reckless
Living the dream right here heaven on wheels
v2
Tipped a lotta cups down in Tennessee
Sucker for a music city kiss
Seeing man is believing and
Our way, our life, it's doesn't get any better than this
Georgia country air
People come from everywhere
Come and play
Come and play
Livin is easy
Riding is hard
Come on take a ride and play
In our backyard
V3
Six pack motivator
Red line see you later
all charged up for the main event
Let it go go
Southern girls we're gonna ride or die
Rev it up to the sky
Ch
Come and play
Come and play
Livin is easy, Riding is hard
Fell in love with a wild card
Never thought I'd get this far
In our backyard

We fire up our engines today
We don't care what they all say
Our wheels are burning the ground
Our numbers will drown the sound
Our leather is charred
Our knuckles are scarred
Come and play in our back yard
The pipes they glow like the flames
The locals all know our names
The tach is pegged in red
The law that we follow is unsaid
Our leather is charred
Our knuckles are scarred
Come and play in our back yard
People don't get in the way
Of the rebels who rule the day
It's time to step aside
And let the invasion ride
Our leather is charred
Our knuckles are scarred
Come and play in our back yard

put on your leather
and hop on your bikes for a ride
let the long winding roads
and the high ways be your guide
Come and play in our back yard for a while
just start your engines
pull your feet up on the pegs
feel the wind blow upon you
and the power is between your legs
Come and play in our back yard for a while
lookout the COG army is coming your way
Come and play in our back yard for a while

well, she opens up just like the clouds are breaking
yeah, you can feel the power surge
and when you understand the roads that you'll be taking
yeah, you can feel the sense of courage, feel the white-line dream
you wanna leave it all behind you but the
gravity's strong, but something in your heart knows
that it won't be long
gonna feel the earth move
gonna watch those wheels turn
and wonder how we ever got so far
shouldn't have to be so hard
come and play in our back yard
from the Chattahoochee's icy streams in autumn
to the Deal's Gap turns in the cool summer breeze
through the Cherokee and the Pisgah's mountain passes
along the Smokey Mountain trails, we'll be riding down the rails
and they ask you when you're coming home
just tell 'em you don't know
time to start the engines
let the good times roll
gonna feel the earth move
gonna watch those wheels turn
and wonder how we ever got so far
shouldn't have to be so hard
come and play in our back yard

Come And Play In Our Backyard
Come on and play, down in my backyard
Won’t you come on over and play, down in my backyard
Cause you know you gonna have some fun
Down south of the Georgia line
Won’t you bring my favorite toy
The one with the shiny wheels
Come on and bring my favorite toy
The one with the shiny wheel
Won’t you bring it on over to my backyard
Maybe we can ride to Mobile
We can ride up to the mountains
Ride out to the coast
Ride up through the places
That we all like the most
Yes you just come out and play
Right here in my backyard
And when we’re done now playin’
Maybe we can play some cards
Won’t you come on out and play
Right here in my backyard
Come on over and play
Right here in my backyard
Cause you know you’ll have some fun
Down south of the Georgia Line
Yes, you know you’ll have some fun
Right here in my backyard

I left the big cheese in his air conditioned cell
No explosions followed me down the parking deck stairwell
The arm went up and I was free
I headed home, where I could see
Freedom from ordinary gravity
To carry me to your backyard
I open my outdoor home to the vanguard
The road less traveled welcomes you to our backyard
Not a thing between my soul and the sky
If you have to ask, you never will know why
Lines bisecting I 16
Show me the way to find the scene
The lanes are filled with those who know just what I mean
I'll meet them all in the backyard
I open my outdoor home to the vanguard
The road less traveled welcomes you to our backyard

This week's assignment, from Jason:
"Hi Guys,
My father in law is in a motorcycle gang. Not really, but he is organizing a motorcycle rally next summer in GA (2016). He, and a couple of his gang member buddies, are responsible for the promo video for the event. He has been searching for the perfect song to use in a 3-4 minute montage to help promote the rally but has not found "the right one". This is our challenge for the week. We (you) will write them a song to use in the video. I called him yesterday and asked him to send an email with his thoughts/ideas. It is below. What may not be conveyed in his email is the importance of the title. I think you will have the best chance of rising to the top if your chorus involves "Come And Play In Our Backyard" and if that is also the title of your song... that would be helpful too. Upbeat and catchy. See the email below.
(As an aside (he does not know this)... I want to make a CD of all the entries for them to sell at the 2015 rally (more fundraising here) and on the sleeve will be your song, a link to your web site, a way to contact you, etc. It will be a promotional tool for their 2016 rally, a fundraising CD for MM3AM, as well as a promotional tool for all of you and your music. The CD idea deadline could be a couple months so you can really knock it out for that. And, we will probably have space on the CD for an additional song of yours too... to showcase your talents. It will be a cool sampler. However, we are still on a one week time crunch to write our songs. Happy to hear some feedback. And... more brain-storming (probably possible)... we will all play at the 2016 rally!)
Cheers. Rev your engines!!!
Jason
Here's Jim's email:
This song is to serve as the background music for a montage of pictures and video in a promotional video for the 2016 Concours Owners Group National Rally. The rally will attract 450+ riders from all over the country and the promotional video will be seen by 2000+ members of the club. If you go to
www.cog-online.org you can get more info about the Concours Owners Group.
The 2016 rally is being hosted by the SE region and will be headquartered in Helen, GA. The members of the SE region consider NE GA, Western NC and TN to be "our backyard" and we are inviting the national membership to "come and play in our backyard."
Here's the "standards" that we are looking for:
Time: 3-4 minutes? Absolutely no longer than 4 minutes.
Style: Pop, Country Rock? IMO, it needs to be upbeat and stress our focus.
Focus: "COME AND PLAY IN OUR BACKYARD"
Deadline: 1 Week according to your rules.
The link below will take you to a song entitled Come Play In My Backyard by the Conductors. It has an upbeat rhythm and "catchy" lyrics. It is my particular favorite.

The links below are some other "backyard" themed songs that have been submitted for consideration:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=JytEqxjg5xs
www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEOkwwRzwy8
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG5B40TSjN8
The selected song will get the songwriter/performer some publicity as they will be clearly identified in the credits of the promo video as well as a cash award of a minimum of $100 (this may go up pending approval of the rally committee). Unfortunately, there is the possibility that no song will be selected ... .
