i could go on just thinking about you and never carry it a step further i could go on just dreaming about how you and I could be together I better stop I gotta stop i better stop I’m gonna stop i can’t stop remembering times that i saw you the way you smiled looked like forever i cant stop no matter what you know I fail imagining you and me together a daydream to carry me forward a dream to let me throw away the past a sunny sky looking out to tomorrow forever is how long this will last but then stop i better stop I’m gonna stop yeah, I better stop now stop i better stop I’m gonna stop yeah, I better stop I can't stop
2.
You are my dream, you are my life You are the stars that fill my night When darkness comes to take the light Everything you do, makes me alright You are my lover, you are my friend You are the plane where I transcend I am the flame that you ignite Everything you do, makes me alright You are the Earth on which I stand You are the ring upon my hand And when I board my last flight I know everything you do, has made me alright
3.
Slow it down, kid Do you think it makes a difference if you write another song Look what you did You set out on a journey, but you're just nothing but gone Thought you'd find it The story of your life, how could you be so wrong But when the nighttime turns to day I will try to change my ways We'll tear it down and build it back Everything in place And when the work we've done is through I'll take the time to simply be with you In the evening When you were all together, I was on the road When I'm leaving What I'm really thinking is I don't wanna go alone Please believe me There's nothing more important than the ones you leave at home But when the nighttime turns to day I will try to change my ways We'll tear it down and build it back Everything in place And when the work we've done is through I'll take the time to simply be with you But when the nighttime turns to day I will try to change my ways We'll tear it down and build it back Everything in place And when the work we've done is through I'll take the time to simply be with you Slow it down, kid Do you think it makes a difference if you write another song

Hey remember when we used to be brave and walk the straight line Hey remember when We used to read the writings on the wall Now all Those days are gone Hey remember when you used to be good with all the numbers hey remember when you used to sell love and nothing else And all I had was riddles and all i wanted was you All your love is brush fire in the dark All your love is a ghost long gone who's found a home to haunt these walls forever Hey remember when I was dumb and always frightened Hey remember when I would come each time you called just a robot with a heart All your love is brush fire in the dark All your love is Mississippi flood that pulls you in,spills over walls around you til nothing is safe again
6.
If you're drowning in the backstream Of another's fading warmth Careful what you're dreaming You always filled your card With careless dancers Thought I saw you on the landing Between the pier lights and the night Turning in the moon drift Oh, I believed you And all those careless lies And I think of you sometimes And if I'd known then What you'd mean to me now I'd have never raised my voice So whoever you've got In yr arms tonight Just remember it's the dancer's choice And if you go down south of Bay Street You can watch the harbor lights Dancing on the whitecaps Alive in constant motion And I'm hypnotized But we never moved that way, now did we? We stepped, tripped, stumbled through our nights So bitter and ungraceful You turned my blue heart black And I burned your "sorry"'s And I think of you sometimes And if I'd known then What you'd mean to me now I'd have never raised my voice So whoever you've got In yr arms tonight Just remember it's the dancer's choice
7.
Hard for me to be still Even when I know that it's good for me Never doubted u a bit Still kept my distance played cool Now who's the fool? And I can still hear your voice Helps me through on a cold rainy day Even now we're miles apart You lift my heart in a positive way What more can I say? I may run from you You're so angry have every right to (be) Without warning then it's storming We'll weather that thru And in the morning I'll be here with you Coming round to this way Miss you madly more than I ever say Not holding on to freedom Or living in the past I promise you this will last!! Light to guide my way Bright like a sun shiny day Love may never conquer all But what we have is beautiful...
8.
If only you'd had the chance You'd outshine the sun, or so you said Glamour's in the ruins of a life that never was Now you’ve sold your soul to faith and hope Surrendered to that slippery slope - oh, no Alluring little victim All tied up with velvet rope Beautiful loser Waiting for the world to rescue you Beautiful loser It's better to lose than face the ugly truth Perpetual potential Is all you ever want to be- oh, no The meaning’s nonessential What Could Be’s always greater than What Is It’s easier not to try – when you’ve failed yourself It’s all a lie Beautiful loser Waiting for the world to rescue you Beautiful loser It's better to lose than face the ugly truth Always asking for my help But you never take my hand Why you love that desolation I can never understand Beautiful loser Waiting for the world to rescue you Beautiful loser It's better to lose than face the ugly truth
9.
Window open, jump out and run to you my love there's no stopping season's change call me winter, cause here I come, here I come You dress yourself in a lavender veil the heart on your sleeve, you wear it well I will call you spring I will wait for you You can call me winter When the nights get long In between the lines is where you walk You were born a lover of men so many don't understand you speak to me like the moon speaks softly to the sea I will call you spring I will wait for you You can call me winter When the nights get long We will dance the night away there will be no tomorrow today we will have the last of the best and the best of the last you can call me winter and i will call you spring

about

The assignment this week is from AG:

"Ok, after last week's balls to the wall "bon" assignment, let's mix it up. What is it about guys like Van Morrison or Paul Mc that can write incredibly simple songs, that are so powerful and can last forever. I love understated music, so this week your challenge is to write an impactful, singer-songwriter tune using 4 chords or less. It should be a mellow tune, think something like "Crazy Love" that is so simple, yet incredibly powerful and timeless.

So how to do this? Well, we need lyrical imagery. undeniable and immediate melodies. Easier said than done yah? Go to it."
