I got a good start on this one earlier in the week, but I just completely ran out of time. This one's a little darker than some of the other more commercial tracks from this round, but I still like it. The lyrics are absolutely placeholders, and the bridge is a weird left-turn experiment that didn't go anywhere, and the track needs work, but I like the bones of this for our licensing stuff.
lyrics
I hesitate to even include these, as they're 100% placeholder lyrics, but ...
If there’s a place you go
An afterglow
I don’t wanna keep you waiting
We used to climb that hill
We drank our fill
Now it’s only suffocating
I know you really wanna make it blue
I know you really wanna shake what chased you
I feel the presence of a deeper kind of pain
I still remember when you held me close
I still remember when the darkness chose you
I swear I loved you til the thunder chased the rain
Sometimes the hawk chase crow
The prey deals blows
Everybody finds their moment
But you don’t seem to care
It’s so unfair
How you lost your best opponent
I know you really wanna make it blue
I know you really wanna shake what chased you
I feel the presence of a deeper kind of pain
I still remember when you held me close
I still remember when the darkness chose you
I swear I loved you til the thunder chased the rain
Oh, how the river used to run
How the gain became the gun
could you ever change your mind
Oh, how I wanted you to stay
When the green became the grey
What did you hope to find?
