Flags are patriotic
2.
He wears the flag draped ‘round his shoulders, all hail the red, white and blue. He hates the fags, commies and liberals, thinks they belong in a zoo. His sons and his daughters do what they oughta, what if he only knew. He wears the flag draped ‘round his shoulders. He carries a cross in his front pocket. Generous to charities. Counts it as loss off of his taxes, thinks of the poor as diseased. Stands when he sings the Star Spangled Banner, makes sure he prays on his knees He wears the flag draped ‘round his shoulders. He loves America, and most Americans - well, all the ones that vote red. He won’t admit it out loud, but he’s certain, Reagan is not really dead. He’s a free-thinker, you know the kind, the ones that will go where they’re led. He wears the flag draped ‘round his shoulders.

O America I’m sending a little love your way O America I hope we won’t throw it away Nobody wins all the time Went back to the small town To the place where I grew up To have a look at the farm house And see how it held up But it had been burned down Several years before By some the local boys Drunk and bored O America I’m sending a little love your way O America I hope we won’t throw it away Nobody wins all the time Nothing lasts forever I suppose As I child I saw a fortress But it turns out You’re as fragile as a rose Some feel they’ve got nothing left to lose So they’re coming up behind you Drunk on anger With pitchforks and a noose Most of them will realize when it’s far too late That though you were far from perfect We made a grave mistake When we chose hate O America Sending a little love your way O America I hope we won’t throw it away O America Sending a little love your way O America I hope we won’t throw it away Nobody wins all the time

She wore a patriotic name tag She held a Budweiser in her hand A brass band in her head With an American flag , on her bed She strutted into the arena Like a peacock filled with glee, Everyone wondered, who could this person be?

Patriotic synth pop A weird ass lyric to sing But not as strange as being a song prompt And coming up with something I don’t do much synth pop And I’m not much of a Patriot But maybe since Brady is no longer playing I’ll give it a second thought ` What can we do with this? What melody might we find? A hidden gem to unearth here Deep inside my mind Patriotic synth pop Like a cloud on a sunny day Doesn’t mean you can’t see a shadow If you look away I’ve been running non stop Trying to get from there to here Three words broke the fever, made me a believer Braving the new frontier To go where few have gone before To dive right into the deep Is to behold possibilities At least it seems that way to me One of these things is not like the other One of these things is not like the other One of these things is not like the other Yeah yeah yeah…. Patriotic Synth Pop A salute with a little flair Just in case you’re wondering If anybody really cares

v1: Now I don't have the answers But I know we can't set death traps for our neighbors You've got some mighty plans here But I don't think we do ourselves any favors ------- By speaking loud and acting strong And telling folks they don't belong v2: No, I've never met the guy But I heard his song about the boot up the ass I know he feels he's gotta try But you talk like that? You look real dumb, real fast ------- And please don't claim the name of Christ 'Cause I think that He would be surprised... ch: To learn He was sent to save this country and not the rest of the world Unless He comes with bags of money He's of little worth v3: You've got a right to be born But once you're out, you're on your own And don't say that you weren't warned Have a look at our leaders, you should've known ------- So please don't claim the name of God Don't you think that it sounds odd... ch: To learn God sent His Son to the US and not the rest of the world "Cause we're the bravest, the strongest, the truest Like the brightest of pearls -- some sort of solo -- v4.5: And please don't claim the name of Christ 'Cause I'm sure that He would be surprised... ch: To learn He was sent to save this country and not the rest of the world He's got us feeling a little jumpy with His red-letter words

Out the door Got shit to do I'm looking for A life renewed I am American You don't know What I have found You'd have to go And look around I am American Don't let em take Who you are Just create Another Star You and I Are locking eyes and I know we're gonna fly I just know That we kind find The kind of show that blows our mind I am American I might think To stand your ground You should wink And turn around I am American Chorus I just want to feel proud again Of this land that I'm living in Is this crowd breaking down my doors Gonna win we're gonna fly we're gonna fly

Gilded plates and grinning bones A whispered rage, it stands alone Ruby lies they patronize Rich men rot and draw blood flies Broken crowns and rusted blade Promise broken, hope betrayed Crystal cup, it’s venom filled Sipping shadows hunger chilled Poppies for the hoi polloi Sleeping mass, sweet nectar, joy Serpents coil, rhetoric hiss Counting coins and stolen kiss Resting wicked, throwing stones Burning children from their homes Banners red with sable hope Pray we dangle from a rope While the poorest go to war Croesus cronies shut the door Parliaments of hooded claws Ringing halls with cold applause Waving flags an empire falls Holding crosses in its jaws Faint and frail, an errant word Carries hope, endangered bird
