I started out writing a love song, yes, it was meant for you. Turns out it was not much of a love song. The story it told grew stale, grew old. Not sure when I first knew. This was not gonna be your typical love song. I once believed that writing a love song meant putting words to a tune. But that’s not the way you write a true love song. The tale that you tell cannot buy, cannot sell, maybe we gave up too soon. Turns out it was not your typical love song. INSTRUMENTAL BREAK The lesson I’ve learned is real love is not earned. It sort of comes naturally. So maybe I’ll never write a true love song. It ought to be easy, writing a love song, just listen to your heart. So, why do I struggle writing a love song? I might be inspired if I knew you kept tryin’, but I don’t think you do. So maybe I’ll never write a true love song.

This is a show to make me feel better about myself As a white guy Structural racism handled so very delicately For a white guy Look at them on the tv screen Living in perfect harmony Feel good story for you Cause it sure feels good to me Two brothers plucked off of the streets by a wealthy man (he’s a white guy) Park Avenue luxurious apartment is their new home (owned by the white guy) Look how they get along so well Killer ratings make it easy to tell Giving America what they want is what we want to sell White savior narrative making it seem like it’s a-okay To be that white guy Culture divides made simple and fun on Fridays at 8 For a white guy For the white guy For the white guy
