I lived in Los Angeles, California from 1981-1989. I was immersed in the rock and roll scene of Sunset Strip. I was blown away by the glam and the excess, I became totally wrapped up in it, I lived the night life, and I held down few consistent jobs. My longest-running gig was for the band, LA Guns. I was a roadie, driver, friend, and, most importantly, their connection to the drug scene. I introduced them to some amazing stuff. I sampled everything I bought. In 1989 I hit rock bottom and needed to get my life in order, I needed to slow down. Around this time I began listening to late night radio and discovered a Brazilian folk singer by the name of James Pierre. His music healed me. It centered me. It gave my life focus and direction. This song is for Jim Pierre.
