I think that this one had a strong start, with a good hook idea. Probably began in Dawes territory, as I've been listening to their new album quite a bit lately. It quickly took a turn for the more crooner-ish side of Elvis Costello, and it ended up dabbling in a little more faux-jazz noir than I'm comfortable with. Still, I can imagine streamlining this one a bit and working on the lyrics and turning this into something usable at some point.
