The prompt this week - to “write a simple song” - was harder than I expected at first. You'd think it'd be easy (easier than, say, writing a complicated song) but that wasn't the case. I was overthinking it. So I got out of my own way and went super-literal with the music and lyrics, and the floodgates opened. As you'll see, I had fun with this one.
lyrics
It's a snap
No sweat
It's a cinch
Effortless
Smooth sailing
Such a breeze
I can do it
In my sleep
It's a piece of cake
It's as easy as pie
There's nothing to it
No problem with it
At the push of a button
It's so crystal clear
I can do it with my eyes shut
Even when you're not here
Like a walk in the park
Like riding a bike is
Like falling off a log
It's not rocket science
So easy peasy
It's plain as the day
And even for the grownups
It's child's play
As easy as saying your
ABC's
Your teacher would know it's so
Elementary
This song that I wrote
Has a message to send:
If you don't know what simple is
I'll sing it again....
