I think we've all got a few friends that like to tell us how they're tired of all the drama in their life and fail to realize that their own poor choices are creating that environment.
So many directions to go with a "Beatlesque" mandate, and I probably took the easy way out with a McCartney-ish shuffle, but I never get tired of writing songs like this. This probably came out a little more Jellyfish than Macca, but hey, that's kinda splitting hairs, no?
lyrics
we tread the boards
we face the crowd
the shouts and jeers
and when I bowed you chose to fight
you searched the floor
you won't be satisfied no more
until you find
the cowards hiding in the wings
behind the wall
beneath the desk
another troll,
just like the last, grotesquely waits
to bait your hook
a savage sneer, a sidewise look
so come now
and show us how you're made
let me know you care about
the downtrod and the weak
how the mighty fall each time you speak!
(please don't read the comments
don't read the notes

watch what you say
watch what you do
you seem so surprised
what you’ve gotten into
it's such a show
it's such a bore
you fired the first shot
now you’ve got your own
very special own war
is there a god?
is there a hell?
with all the drama
it's just as well you start the fight
and stay to win
but I don't think I'll have a drink again
with you
and your brand new enemies
let me know you care about
the downtrod and the weak
how the mighty fall each time you speak!
(please don't read the comments
don't read the notes

watch what you say
watch what you do
you seem so surprised
what you’ve gotten into
it's such a show
it's such a bore
you fired the first shot
now you’ve got your own
very special own war
