The world certainly does not need another lost-love ballad from me, but this one feels a little different. Maybe I just haven't written in 6/8 in a while.
As for the subject, I really struggled with trying to come up with something that meets Jerry's criteria and is not advice for a younger self. The topic that came to mind was the concept of feelings and experience being so much rawer and more rich and fresh at that age - that everything feels like it's the most joyful or painful thing in the world. I'd sure love to experience that all over again, as I'm sure we all would.
