Whew... last week on the road, home on Sun. Which means next week I'll be back to the normal state of rush on these songs and not total damage control doing from a beach house or hotel room. This one just didn't come out where I wanted it, and will doubtful see the light of day (maybe cleaned up forlicensing inst) but guess it's part of the process.
lyrics
Jenny was a rich girl, never had a lot to say
Spent a lotta money, funny and she had a kind face
I was working in the back
Scrubbin dishes dreaming about this - and that
Crack a grin
Some days the good guys win
Took me for a gonner two loners on a Saturday
Thought that she was leaving man but seeing is believing
At the Black River Cafe!
Woke up in the morning in a hotel south of route 6
Jenny lying next to me watching Tom and Jerry on her netflix
Smiled but didn't say a thing
Room service half eaten, hair glistening
Crack a smile
This could take a while
Took it for a one-night stand but on the Sunday
Showed up smiling plenty, can't belive it's still me
At the Black River Cafe
Now I work the day shift, Jenny's not around today
Have ourselves a sweet thing, owe it all to meeting
At the Black River Cafe
