Edit: Uncle Mike lost his five year battle with cancer about an hour after I posted this. He was a good dude. I wish I’d known him better. Like me, my uncles abandoned our hometown at the earliest opportunity. That's him in the pic with my great Aunt Bertha (yes, I know, we country as fuck). My Pawpaw Grady, uncle Mike, and uncle Tommy all spent their lives in the US Navy. It was almost my fate too. Uncle Mike, rest your oars, sailor. We have the watch.
