Still on my horn-band kick. This one is an outlier; a little heavier, a little less soulful, and hella angry, for some reason. Needs more nuanced lyrics. Also, it only bears tangential relation to the assignment, but I did mention "a world war," so that's a world event, right? I've resigned myself to the fact that for this round, the lyrics are going to be secondary to the vibe and the groove. Still, I can't help thinking that this might be fun to play live ...
lyrics
Shut yr - damn mouth I can’t
Believe what you say
Talk til you go blue won’t make it
All go away
I’ve been asleep for so long
How did I let it go wrong?
Thought it was so funny
I ain’t laughing today
Put out a brush fire with your kerosene
Used to be a razor, now a guillotine
I’m on the chopping block
I still got time on the clock
You thought you’d never see a
Man get mean
Go on
Go on
Say what you’ve got and get gone
The big con
Big con
You came to the party, guns drawn
You’re so sure
So sure
You gonna start a world war
No more
No more
Can’t let you hurt me no more
