As eccentric artist themselves, my folks enjoyed my music best when it was honest and unique. My first thought was to try to replicate the Gypsy Kings, but when that fell short, I stopped trying so hard, opened up the spout and just let the juices pour out. It was a pleasure to write and play, and I think my parents would hear that in the music.
lyrics
Celebrate Life
“Protect your heart,” my mam would say
An artist ahead of her day
“Feel every little joy and pain
Remember THIS is life, you won’t be here again”.
“You are capable of anything”
Those words will always help me sing.
“Keep it simple”
When you lose your way
Man how I miss her every day…
Thunder and lightning brings me home
Nothing shines like the soul
Don’t forget if your parents hadn’t met
You wouldn’t be here at all to celebrate
Celebrate celebrate this life
“Stay out of trouble, use your head”
Just one of the many things my father said.
Friends forever but family first
It was the tough love
That felt the worst
A shoulder to lean on
When I’m feeling low
Open arms
When I’ve got no place left to go…
Thunder and lightning brings me home
Nothing shines like the soul
Don’t forget if your parents hadn’t met
You wouldn’t be here at all to celebrate
Celebrate celebrate this life
