I do NOT want to phone in any of the assignments this round; I really appreciate Mitchell's thoughtful assignments, and I want to personally get as much out of them as possible. This week, though ... well, it just didn't happen. The only idea that carried through is that one of my projects-in-progress is working on a batch of potential duet songs for Molly and I. My touchstone for that project is the Gillian Welch/David Rawlings material, and that seemed to fit this assignment for "timeless" material. I had a bit of a melodic idea earlier in the week, but no time to work on it. This is a true one-hour project right here, with no "real" lyrics. Still, I feel like this might actually have decent bones, against all odds. Might be worth returning to.
