I frequently have ridiculously cold hands, especially in winter. It's like a terrible superpower to be able to startle people without meaning to.
I borrowed a U Bass today. That thing is the scale of my viola with giant rubber strings, like a cartoon cat would play. It's pretty floppy sounding but it's almost too much fun to play.
I tried to be more consistent about meter & rhyme this time.
lyrics
they appear with no warning
ice hands of doom
a sharp shock in the morning
still numb at noon
I once had warmer fingers
10 digits deep
phalangeal doppelgangers
replaced in sleep
They'll touch your earl grey
and turn it to iced
gloves fail to allay
this cruel Fahrenheist
The time of no protection
low mercury
No heat for deflection
obviously
The retreat of the blood cells
gives me the means
one brush of a fontanelle
elicits screams
