So, sliding into home base with this one. First off, I brought my wife in on this one. Part of the reason I wanted to join this group was to give her and I an opportunity to wrestle through co-writes together again. We really enjoyed chopping through this. Pulling from the subliminal imagery in Doug's starter piece to try and give some further direction. Tommy has a good knack for infrastructure, so we've simplified a little bit of his chorus, pulling lines 3 and 4 and using them as the start of the 1st verse. We also ended up switching the chords around a bit that Tommy was using and gave it a bit more of a picked feel.
The feel is a little loose as we were still sort of nailing it down while we were working on this last take, and we had to keep stopping cause our daughter kept asking us for crackers <3.

Lyrics
Did I come this way before
It’s all looking quite the same
Am I back where I’d begin
Same old ground but different
Chorus:
Who knows why the river bends
Who knows how the road will end
There’s no direction
Just call it south of the sun
Did the wind just blow me here
Out of my darkest dreams
Is the howling that I’m hearing
The sound of everything
Chorus:
Who knows why the river bends
Who knows how the road will end
There’s no direction
Just call it south of the sun
