Looks like I'm locked in to this Peter Gabriel/Catherine Wheel/Porcupine Tree mode for a bit. We'll see where it leads. There's a lot about this that's superficially Gabriel-esque, though it certainly took on a more modern-rock edge than I was originally expecting. Still, I kinda dig this one. No idea what I can do with any of these tracks, but it's fun to work on some stuff that has no utilitarian value.
lyrics
it's in the water
the killer's dream
the freeman's daughter
sins of sephardim
the wings of angels
approaching near
it's all before you
the curses in your ears
you saw what happened
you heard the screams
you ran for shelter
you crossed the stream
the rifle's bearing
the powder horn
but your betrayal
better that you've never been born
you're dead to me
those poisoned memories
you're dead to me
you're the wind in the pines
you're dead to me
and the ghost of last summer
you're dead to me
left me tracing outlines
I've learned the scripture
I've read the verse
I know the legend
the Judas purse
I won't forget you
I won't forgive
I'll count your number
call your name as long as you live
you're dead to me
those poisoned memories
you're dead to me
you're the wind in the pines
you're dead to me
and the ghost of last summer
you're dead to me
left me tracing outlines
