I think I like this one about as much as any MM3 track I've done in a while. Another vaguely Jayhawks-inspired tune with an eye for possible Mag Green material. The lyrics need a lot of work, but at least I have a title and basic concept, and I'm rather fond of the tune.
lyrics
Poured my coffee strong today
You’d be half of the way to the Keys
But for me
Dishes piled up in the sink
On the brink of remembering a song
the tune’s all wrong
I’ll hear you on the radio
Don’t forget me when I go
The general lays his saber down
On the fields where we drown in our shame pass the flame they named the river for the flood spilled their blood in the soil
Flowed like wine through crooked lines
With walls as sound as Jericho
Don’t forget me when I go
And when you’re back the patience is the proof
Let’s sit and watch the fireflies from the roof
where you gone, say I don’t know
Don’t forget me when I go
