Me and my family have taken this drive many times. Nice song for our families ‘Audio Scrapbook’ which is something I’ve been creating for years and that’s how I’ll use this. Also… I discovered that it’s very hard to snap for over 4 minutes!
lyrics
Drive, Drive, Drive
It’s 4am we get the kids in the car
Mom and Dad are barely awake
Got a long way to go to get to Texas
Got 23 hours to make
It’s dark outside, the kids are asleep
Mom is too, don’t dare turn on the radio
Gotta get through Atlanta in 4 or 5
Don’t hit it at 7 or you’ll be stuck for days
Stop to get some coffee, the kids are still out
If I’m quiet maybe we’ll push on through
On this drive…drive, drive, drive
On this drive…drive, drive, drive
It’s 10 in the mornin’, the kids are awake
We stop to get some breakfast and the little one wants pancakes
We look for the border headin’ out of GA
Through Alabama, now, which beltway do we take
The kids’ll watch some movies to help pass the time
Lookin’ out the window at the yellow line
Head for Louisiana to stop halfway
Cruise on down the 12 to find a place to stay
We’re far away from home, it feels kinda strange
I hope they have a pool so that the kids can play
Head off to bed and get some rest
So we can get up early and do it all over again
On this drive…drive, drive, drive
Yeh this drive…drive, drive, drive
Get up in the mornin’ it’s a brand new day
Gas up the minivan we’re on our way
Finish out the 12, and merge on the 10
That’s where we’ll be until we get to the end
Of this drive…drive, drive, drive
Yeh this drive…drive, drive, drive
For lunch we try to find some Louisiana cuisine
My son’ll try the gator tail the girls say ‘No, not me’
Back on the road the Texas line on our mind
Then it’s 6 more hours to the San Anton’ line
Look out the window you can see for a mile
The land is golden it ain’t rained in a while
Even though we’re in Texas there’s a long way to go
We’ve come so far but it just seems so slow
On this drive…drive, drive, drive
Yeh this drive…drive, drive, drive
We find our destination and it’s really late
It seemed to take forever but we made it safe
We see our Nana and Grampa, it’s good to be
With the people we love in our family
Wish it were closer, wish we had more time
Wish that they could send us through the telephone line
I know the kids will remember, They’ll never forget
The time we spent together on the interstate
On this drive…drive, drive, drive
Yeh this drive…drive, drive, drive
Etc.
