Given the parameters of the contest, I wasn't quite sure what direction, so to speak, to go. OD is clearly trying to show off a new, "mature," adult-alternative-friendly side. There are tracks on the new album that rip off The Who, Mumford and Sons, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams … I figured I'd stay in more familiar territory and work the "Backstreet Boys sing Mumford" territory.
lyrics
You've been shaking me down
And I feel like I've been dragged through the mud
Don't you know that I'm standing right by you
And when I get off the phone
I get the feeling that you're still on the line
Waiting round for a word I never say
Don't know where or when I made you doubt
How I shook your trust in me
I have lost my faith in so many things
I don't believe in anything
But I will never lose my faith in you
Lose my faith in you
Maybe it's a mistake
To believe beyond the shadow of doubt
But I am already deep as deep can be
'cause what I see through your eyes
a reflection of the distance I've come
just to be in the place where I belong
Don't know where or when I made you doubt
How I shook your trust in me
I have lost my faith in so many things
I don't believe in anything
But I will never lose my faith in you
Lose my faith in you
don't walk away now
take hold the day now
I'll never give you up, never give you up
never give you anything but love
