OK and to clarify, this is about a VA beach road trip taken w my band. I don't usually call a song about a Trip to VA Beach.. "A TRIP TO VA BEACH" but something a bit more obscure, hell I don't even directly reference VA beach in this song, but maybe a bit obscurely...cause honestly that ain't my bag o bricks. But anyways I understand it may have come into question that songs did not directly reference a US road trip, so there is my story. Peace love and Chicken grease!!
lyrics
late at night
silence is my greatest friend sometimes
just the headlights
and an aching to be far away from home
When we load out
you ask me if we have music on the radio
When I plugged in
all you wanted to hear was the song that you knew
and how you had a Roman Candle too
Far away (I'm still missing you now)
behind the wheel
the road goes on forever in my mind
The city lights
and the pavement seems to beat with me in time
I know back home
they want me to be safe and wish me well
I save my dimes
and maybe we'll make enough to get us by
and get onto the next show tomorrow
Far away (I'm still missing you now)
A stranger's bed to sleep upon
is never as good as your own
soon we'll be on our way back home
