Inspired by a few things - Easter mostly, as well as the song prompt to honor all the helpers in our lives. I intended to do a more professional version with a few recorded tracks, but my Sunday afternoon ended up having other plans. Still pleased with the way this iPhone recording came out.
lyrics
She makes her way to the tomb
The grief it consumes her spirit
It’s just another ritual
From long before to revisit
The others wouldn’t pay it mind
Afraid of what they’d find if they’d let it
And time….. it’s always behind
But this time, she’s the first to arrive
He runs because he heard the news
Could it be true, what he’s hearing
It’s the shame that’s kept him gone this long
Will he still belong in his fearing
Sometimes the hope of all our dreams
Can be found it seems in what is not there
And love…. So fleeting inside
But now it’s the first to arrive
It’s not that everything’s okay
Only that the day is dawning
And now….. a new light shines
Because it's the first to arrive
