Well, guess I am kind of following this druggie theme. My drug of choice is pure love. I had a different approach writing this song. After reading the assignment, I started playing around on my guitar for a bit, and then I started writing. I wrote an entire page of complete thoughts, but it was not in song format. When I scanned over the words, “I feel alive” jumped off the page at me. I then separated “I feel” and “alive” into the pre-chorus and chorus. The puzzle of the song started coming together. Every word of this tune is extremely close to my heart. It was written entirely about the man who holds the other half of my heart. I really am alive for the first the time.
