Got all three words - I stink at Dobro but I did add the challenge from the last round I was booted out on as well and I worked on the Banjo a bit (something I'm not familiar with). The banjo you hear is one of my prized possessions - it's John Nickels' banjo. Miss him.
lyrics
We'd hoped for better weather
The day we headed out to go far away
On the way she started out to paint a picture
Of what might entail a brand new day
The road was rough and filled with unknown
But we traveled on and on
A census RECORD of a history wouldn't sit still
A ball of CLAY that would ever say it ever saw its last line
Look back and find that there were generations carried by will
So many bumps that we had taken
Came off the trail and lost a wheel
The deep and twisted tracks that we were makin'
Showed the scars we had that might not ever heal
Only one choice to carry on
And we traveled on and on
Just couldn't see a better way
But we knew we couldn't stay
How did we ever make it through the times we just didn't know
A ball of CLAY that wouldn't ever say it ever saw it's last line
How hard that life would seem when looking back on so long ago
A stark COLLECTION of the stories told after time after time
Look back and find that there were generations carried by will
