Crazy busy week. I probably spent a collective 30 minutes in between the last few hours hanging with my son. Chords and melody in one, not very thought out take (note the accidental variations) along with lucky brown notes under appropriate lyrics.
Inspired by a recent conversation with Clay about being happy with something to come back to in terms of songwriting. I feel like that topic actually produced something worth revisiting.
lyrics
Every day is another mystery
And while I love the chaos, sometimes it’s hard to see
If I’ll ever keep my head up over the waves that I call in
Will I sink down to the bottom, forgetting how to swim
All these years seem to disappear
With a stack of bills and constant fear
That I could’ve done more before the end
So I run the race with a smile on my face
And hope that I can keep my place
I just want something that I can come back to
If I ever find the time
Every road holds certain uncertainties
The ones less traveled often make me want to peek
Even when I know that some lead to aches
Keep pushing forward and learn from mistakes
All these years seem to disappear
With a stack of bills and constant fear
That I could’ve done more before the end
So I run the race with a smile on my face
And hope that I can keep my place
I just want something that I can come back to
If I ever find the time
If I can’t think of anything else to say Maybe it’s better that way
