This song was a fun way to spend an hour I could carve out this week; 65 minutes total from start to finish. I'm trying to make myself exercise writing music first, so this is an example of that. I'm hope to revise it, eventually.
Most of "free time" has been spent rearranging an older song over the last couple of weeks. I've managed to spend nearly 15 hours on it so far, so that's where my creative focus has been.
So glad to back in the group, writing again!
lyrics
You know what you are
You’re a, a shining star
Brightest in the sky
But just too far
I’d write it down
And put it into song
But sound is so slow
It may take too long
If I were a flashlight
On a rocket ship
Ready to stand up
And make the trip
I’d power on
Batteries equipped
Morse Code the rhythm
Of heart to lips
I’d write it down
And put it into song
But sound is so slow
It may take too long
