I started three other songs late Sunday night, almost completing the lyrics for the "Christmas love story in space," then this came out pretty much at once. It's a bit rough and definitely needs some lyrical revisiting, but I feel it is a decent start for a tune, otherwise.
lyrics
New Year’s Day
Pull myself through
With whatever it takes
Every time seems it’s getting too late
Clocks all gone
Everybody’s going home
So much to clean up
I’m just a stranger in my own mind
I’m just a stranger in my own mind
Carry the cause
Give me the fire enough to hang on to
Give me the fire give me the warmth inside
To Carry the load
Give me some life
See there is so much more
When there’s gold to the page
I never seem to learn
Keep too much to make any sense of it all
Keep too much to make any sense of it all
Get it out I don’t care set it on fire
So much less to go through
Throw it all away like it’s New Year’s Day
