This week’s assignment comes from Clay:
"It is 1966 and you have been asked to submit a song for a new band that will be featured on a television show called The Monkees….”
I tried to pretend I'd been hanging out with Brian Wilson. I'd like to try it again sometime. This was definitely my first attempt in writing with this style. Off to see the Foo Fighters so percussion and the next round of attempting to do better will have to wait.
lyrics
1 and 1 makes 2
And me and you makes 2 as 1
No one ever had more fun
With adding up to 1
I've won
Bring us together
And we'll never weather the
Whether or nots
We'll tie the knot
And go wherever
Whenever
Forever
And ever
Where we will fit in
Your heart has been broken
But as just a little token
You can have mine
to take with you
For all time
If my heart was split in two
And some how subtracted from me and you
I don't know what I'd do
I don't know what I'd do
Nothing is nothing is nothing without you
Baby you'll see
we're living a dream
made for you and me
