Essentially beginning my revision at midnight, Monday morning, I managed to make a few changes. I sped the tempo up and experimented with a different feel. After trying completely different chord progressions on the verses and chorus, I went back to the original idea and added a bridge. A few of the lyrics were altered as well in the second verse, but there are a couple of lines that will definitely get some future TLC if this song is to be nurtured.
I am justifying the IV chord of the bridge as part of verse 2. Then on the last bridge, the C teases the same verse chord - it just never fully returns to the verse.
lyrics
Smiling Blue Eyes
It's nice to see you
From behind those walls
I've been calling your name
From afar
Whispers and vibrations
Love and admiration
Welling up the quiet
Shooting stars
I've been waiting for so long
Just to say a few words to you
To hear your voice ring in my ears
To see your smiling blue eyes
To see your smiling blue eyes
I can't get enough
I cherish each moment
Like the desert every drop
The key to every lock
Inside a box
If what's meant to be is meant to be
I'll manifest this destiny
Blow a kiss with every wish
Shooting stars
I've been waiting so long
Just to say a few words to you
To hear your voice ring in my ears
To see your smiling blue eyes
I've been waiting for so long
Just to say a few words to you
To hear your voice ring in my ears
To see your smiling blue eyes
To see your smiling blue eyes
