Though I had to skip on the phrase, "Something More Than Human" this week, the phrase inspired some personification.
The basic melody and general direction of the song was stuck in my head around the middle of the week. Over the last few days, I tweaked on the lyrics finally finishing the skeleton today (Sunday).
Though my goal this round has been to get the best out of a song at its core and worry about arranging later, I had fun playing with some toys tonight for the first time in months. Lots of tightening and reworking is definitely needed, but I'm happy with the results for the short period of time I had to work on it. Each instrument is the second take, so a little rough.
lyrics
“Sunbeam”
You are
A sunbeam
Shining down
On me
Lord how I love to feel your glow
Rise up
From the heat
Bringing me
To my knees
You know that you make me so high
I don't ever want to come down
I don't ever want to come down
I don't ever want to come down
You are
Summer breeze
Making me
Feel at ease
With a look from your eyes and a smile
Even if
Occasionally
It's all that
I'll ever need
Lord how you make me so high
I don't ever want to come down
I don't ever want to come down
I don't ever want to come down
I'll just stay up here In the atmosphere
With my head in the clouds, just living out loud
You make it so hard to breathe. There's no place I'd rather be
So catch me if I fall
You are
A sunbeam
Shining down
On me
Lord how I love to see you glow
Rise up
From the east
Carry me
Until I sleep
Lord how you make me so high
I don't ever want to come down
I don't ever want to come down
I don't ever want to come down
Sunbeam won't you shine down on me
Sunbeam won't you shine down on me
Sunbeam
