With this one, I once again started in Hall & Oates mode, and there's a little of that Philly soul thing there, along with the Roland drum machine and the CP-70, but this one's a little less on-the-nose than last week's, thank goodness.
lyrics
I never asked for trouble
I never needed no extra time
I had it all so simple
In the sunshine
Couldn’t see those storm clouds
never heard that thunder bang
Should’ve known I was standing
On the fault line
It’s the same situation
Seen it before
But when you’re standing inside it
Leaves you crying for more
You know you’ve gotta run
but all that pleasure in the pain
Leaves you thirsty for more
in a hard driving rain
And now I stand in the storm
And I don’t wanna be safe no more
Nobody walks away the same
When they’ve felt the sting
of warm rain
And I can’t even see it straight
Got me blinded like a
Flash of lightning
couldn’t stop this pulse
Rolling like a freight train
It’s the same situation
Seen it before
But when you’re standing inside it
Leaves you crying for more
You know you’ve gotta run
but all that pleasure in the pain
Leaves you thirsty for more
in a hard driving rain
