(TO BE READ IN THE VOICE OF ROD SERLING) Picture if you will, the ending movement of an actual live performance of the rock opera at hand. This bare bones example of what would begin with just guitar and the mega-voiced star of our show under a single spotlight gradually building and adding instrumentation and production, eventually ending with the infectious repetition of a chorus backed by a full orchestra and 75 voice choral fanfare. This idea attempts to capture the elusive thoughts of those that think they can have Ying AND Yang…a world without opposites. It will never happen but there will always be those who try as is the fate of our young contrast warrior…here in the Twilight Song Writing Zone!!!
lyrics
Heaven & Hell
Why settle for half of it all if you can have everything
Take the speed and go slow, keep it wet when it’s dry
You can have it all Stand up to fall
And when you fly you bury your dreams down deep inside your heart
And when the waves come crashing down
And when the world is against you
This strange addiction will lead you to think you can have it all
Heaven & Hell, Heaven & Hell
Forever caught under the spell
Those two things should never be
One in the same, The ice & the flame
Heaven & Hell, Heaven & Hell
I had it all in the palm of my hands
As elusive as the desert sands
I believed, I was naïve
Heaven & Hell
I thought for sure that I would see the storm long before it got to me
In full control of the desperate things that need to be inside of me
I was more than free
And then I found my way to the end of what could have been
An easy friend
And when you’re smarter than the world
The edges start to blend
The age & affliction will teach you to breathe
But will come back and smother you
Heaven & Hell, Heaven & Hell
Forever caught under the spell
Those two things should never be
One in the same, The ice & the flame
Heaven & Hell, Heaven & Hell
I had it all in the palm of my hands
As elusive as the desert sands
I believed, I was naïve
Heaven & Hell
