This week, I took on Jason’s 2 Hour Challenge. The title he gave me was ‘Hello Dolly’. Well... little did Jason know that my maternal grandparents always affectionately called each other ‘Dolly’. So the title immediately took me down the path of the moment when my Grandmother met my Grandfather waiting for her in Heaven. I’ve written very often about the view of death from the angle here on earth but had never written about it from the view on the other side. Thanks Jason…I’m sure my Nanny & Bruiser are listening!
lyrics
Hello Dolly
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you
How did things go while I was gone
I’ve been waiting right here for you
Like I promised you in 1951
You know it’s perfect here just like we believed
Turns out those Sunday mornings were the best thing for you and me
Hello Dolly – So glad you’re here
Did you hear me calling – year after year
I knew that I would see you again
Hello Dolly
Hello Dolly
We’ve got forever now to fall in love again
Let’s take it nice & slow like we never could back then
I’ve got this place scoped out, there’s so much here to see
Nothin’ left but time to share for all eternity
We can look down on the kids and help them every now and then
I wish that they could know we’re together once again
Hello Dolly – So glad you’re here
Did you hear me calling – year after year
I knew that I would see you again
Hello Dolly
Hello Dolly
The clock is gone and days nights don’t ever seem to change
But now our time is endless, it’ll never tick away
So many memories to talk about
So many more yet to be made
I remember that smile, and those eyes
Just like it was only yesterday
Hello Dolly – So glad you’re here
Did you hear me calling – year after year
I knew that I would see you again
Hello Dolly
Hello Dolly
Hello Dolly
Hello Dolly
