Another week that I had a tune pop into the mind radio at 6:13am, had to run out to the porch in my underoos to record the idea on my phone. It was a good one but come today, I couldn’t make ends meet lyrically so I started from scratch and did a 'record as you go' song. My parents have always been very supportive of my music and loved most everything I’ve done and I’ve always liked what they like. Their favorites were Chicago and Tom Jones. I went for Chicago and ended up with a David Foster era ballad. Mom was always a fan of the big ballads.
lyrics
I Miss You
Ever since you went away
My minds an open door
To all the memories
I’m left just wanting more
I always knew my love would never fade
Now that you’ve gone I can only say
I know you’re happy now just where you are
I always wanted just the best for you
I know that I’m not in your plans right now
I’d never do anything to hurt you
I’m not saying that I want you back
I’m just saying that I miss you
Although it’s hard to do
I’ve got to move along
Our years I’ll always have
I’ll find a way to be strong
In time I know we’ll meet again
For now my strength is just to say
I know you’re happy now just where you are
I always wanted just the best for you
I know that I’m not in your plans right now
I’d never do anything to hurt you
I’m not saying that I want you back
I’m just saying that I miss you
Brace for tomorrow
Embrace your yesterday
It’s only what is meant to be
I know you’re happy now just where you are
I always wanted just the best for you
I know that I’m not in your plans right now
I’d never do anything to hurt you
I’m not saying that I never think of you
I’m not saying that I need you in my arms right now
I’m not saying that I want you back
I’m just saying that I miss you
I’m just saying that I miss you
I’m just saying that I miss you
