the assignment- take a Beatles chorus and rewrite the vocal melody it backwards.
...and that is the last time you can use Beatles and this song in the same context.
One thing- I challenged myself to write differently than I ever have for the duration of this contest. this is that, at least.
He opened the gate and found
that no one had come around
second glance around- no lines had gathered
he hung his head down low.. cause he knew he had no place to go
at least one that really mattered
Chorus:
he said
I need someone
I need anyone
I need someone
I need everyone
Verse:
she tried to relate but found
her feet were glued to the ground
no words would come it seemed her thoughts were scattered
she'd hang her down head low and bite her lip just so she'd know
the sound wasn't screams just her heart's patter
Chorus:
she'd say
I need someone
I need anyone
I need someone
I need everyone
bridge:
don't let me down
Just be around
Verse:
they always thought they'd try
just seek it out and they would find
that maybe deep down inside their hearts could matter
just a little love would do it could come from me or you
listen hard and hear their cries that scatter
Chorus:
they'd say
I need someone
I need anyone
I need someone
I need everyone
I need someone
I need anyone
I need someone
I need everyone
