My mom just recently gave my High School class ring to my youngest daughter.
That reminded me of the only time I ever wore it. I was a Senior in HS, and a girl that I was not into took it from me at a HS football game to wear.... It took me weeks to get the damn thing back from her. This is my 30+ year response to that young lady who took my ring.
(wrote both of these songs on a single cup of coffee this morning...I have no plans for this day off, so I had time to sit down and pick up guitars...now I will take a nap)
lyrics
she said
baby take my hand
she said
come here and make a stand
she said
baby take my hand
I’ll help you
find our way again
but i want to get away
and get in out of the cold
yeah I want to get away
I wanna get away let truth be told
she said
I wanna wear your ring
she said
around my neck on a string
she said
I wanna wear your ring
I’ll help you
back on your feet again
but i want to get away
and get in out of the cold
yeah I want to get away
I wanna get away let truth be told
yeah I wanna get away
I wanna get away if I can be so bold
yeah I wanna get away
and get out now before we both grow old
