After writing a couple hundred songs this year, I've noticed that I am gravitating towards a certain style of writing where the chorus doesn't want to make itself obvious, even to me. Yes I sing the title of the song, but is that the chorus? Is it just a refrain? To me this song has an A section, a B section and a defined bridge. But I have no idea where the chorus is hiding. Not sure if that's good or bad. Maybe it just...is.
lyrics
In the middle of the storm
The sky filled with debris
In the middle of the storm
It’s too dark to even see
And you know
I couldn’t get to you
And you know
We’ll never make it through
In the middle of the storm
We’re soaked right to the bone
In the middle of the storm
Just trying to make it home
And you know
The clouds are black with rain
And you know
We will never be the same
So there ya go
Just goes to show
There’s no calm before
There’s always more
