I wrote a song about this cold and wet-ass Wednesday morning. It's an accurate assessment of events and sentiments. Living on an island is great, except it rains too goddamn much; especially in the colder months.
lyrics
Wednesday morning, kid’s asleep
5 AM, flip on the heat
Sweet soft chatter on the window pane
Wintertime whisper of a gentle rain
Time’s so fleeting, man, the seasons change
Aint feeling great, but it’s alright
It’s alright
Wife’s draggin’ ass again, comes as no surprise
I’m up at 5 AM and she’s up, 6:45
I’m an early riser, man, and that’s okay
Always seems harder on these cold and rainy days
Can’t find the will to speak, but I got so much to say
It sure ain’t easy, but it’s alright
It’s alright
Look at the news, world’s on the brink
We all gone crazy, Lawd, too much to think
Make the girl’s some breakfast, take em for a ride
Rainy days and taxicabs, smooth as electric slide
Ain’t a bad morning, damn glad to be alive
Thought I might tell ya that it’s alright
It’s alright
