Took a real long walk today
To see if my trouble would go away
And they did
At least a couple anyway
Saw some sights and I smelled some smells
That reminded me of just how well things are going
It really ain’t that bad
Painted lines on an endless road
And I wondered just how far it’ll go
And I looked to the sky and wished that I could fly
How many miles you think I’ll go
Well that’s something that nobody knows
And how many turns are up ahead
As each car would pass I’d go
And I’d get in the grass on the side of the road
‘Cause I bet - It’s not over for me yet
Walked as far as I’d never before
And my feet grew tired and my knees were sore
I had to stop and stretch
So I could walk some more
With each step the fog in my mind
Would clear away just a little at a time
And the knots in the string
Started to unwind
Painted lines on an endless road
And I wondered just how far it’ll go
And I looked to the sky and wished that I could fly
How many miles you think I’ll go
Well that’s something that nobody knows
And how many turns are up ahead
As each car would pass I’d go
And I’d get in the grass on the side of the road
‘Cause I bet - It’s not over for me yet
You never know when you’re thrown into this
Just what kind of road you’ll get
That you’ll be walkin’ on each day
Maybe a car will give you a ride
And you’ll think that you can fly
But each road has curves in a different place
Painted lines on an endless road
And I wondered just how far it’ll go
And I looked to the sky and wished that I could fly
How many miles you think I’ll go
Well that’s something that nobody knows
And how many turns are up ahead
As each car would pass I’d go
And I’d get in the grass on the side of the road
‘Cause I bet - It’s not over for me yet
