Inspired by a story about a guy who received a boomerang as a gift. It was so nice, he just couldn't bear to use it, so he displayed it in his home. I think there's a metaphor here.
lyrics
v1:
A hundred shades of yellow
and a few of blue & red
Some colors that I can't describe
are swirling in my head
You set it up for all to see
It should take flight instead
ch:
C'mon, boomerang
Why you hangin' 'round?
You'll never truly live until you hit the ground
C'mon, boomerang
It's up to you
You were built to fly, you know it's true
v2:
It crossed the mighty ocean
to end up in our town
A beauty like we've never seen
Allow me to break it down
Imagine if it did its job,
it surely would astound
ch:
C'mon, boomerang
Why you hangin' 'round?
You'll never truly live until you hit the ground
C'mon, boomerang
It's up to you
You were built to fly, you know it's true
-- some sort of solo --
v3:
You probably won't believe it
when I show you through the glass
Just a bit of history,
like something from the past
But it's something to be used and loved,
it comes to you at last
ch:
C'mon, boomerang
Why you hangin' 'round?
You'll never truly live until you hit the ground
C'mon, boomerang
It's up to you
You were built to fly, you know it's true
ch:
C'mon, boomerang
Why you hangin' 'round?
You'll never truly live until you hit the ground
C'mon, boomerang
It's up to you
You were built to fly, you know it's true
