It came to me this morning, combining the feelings my daughter had losing her fish, and my personal experiences losing family and loved ones.
I recorded a demo of it, and honestly cannot bear to redo it just now, so here it is, all raw and open, bad notes and tempo issues and all.
Sorry for the ugly cries this may inspire.
lyrics
Yesterday, I had a dream
you were here, beside of me
The sun came up behind a veil of tears
I looked around and you were no longer here
Now and then, I think of you
and all the things, we used to do
I can feel your arms around me still
You're holding me, is this a dream, or real?
This love, it lasts forever
My hope, it never fades
This love, it lasts forever and a day
Just today, it came to me
if i truly loved, unconditionally
I should let you go, and let myself be free
But I don't know if that's what is meant to be.
This love, it lasts forever
My hope, it never fades
This love, it lasts forever and a day
This love, it lasts forever
My hope, it never fades
This love, it lasts forever and a day
