This was one of those strange songs that was all in my head - I wrote the lyrics then sat at the piano and figured out the chords around the melody. I feel it is a strong song, but too Elvis Costello in the delivery.
Not bad sound considering it was recorded live on my phone, then added second vocals and strings in garage band on phone as well.
lyrics
How many times have we tried
Things just didn’t work out
We just scream and shout
Or wallow in our doubt
How many times have we been here
This tired dusty room
This worn out old shoe
Four walls Without a view
We should tear it all down
Brick by brick. Nail by nail
Down to the floor
And see if it’s worth trying for
How many times have we faked it
For each other’s sake
For fear our hearts would break
What difference did it make
We should tear it all down
Brick by brick. Nail by nail
Down to the floor
And see if it’s worth trying for
Bridge:
Sometimes hearts get bruised
But just like fruit
sweetness still remains
Will we listen to our hearts
Or to our brains?
We should tear it all down
Brick by brick. Nail by nail
Down to the floor
And see if it’s worth trying for
