Given the parameters, I don't hate it. Lyrics are crap, but the track and melodies are kinda fun. DX7 spotters: not a lot of "real" synth of any sort on this track, but the string pad on the chorus is one of the DX7's stock string presets.
lyrics
Got a funny feeling on this one
Wonder how to make it last
like a sweet serenade
like a summer’s parade
it’s here and then it’s over too fast
Don’t know what could make you so different
from everyone that’s been here before
are you sweeter than kind
will you leave me behind
Soon as all your songs spoken for
But maybe this time, it’s different
I could play the fool
Gimme one more glance
I could take a chance
On a last-call dance with you
‘Cause I don’t care no more
I’ll meet you on the floor
for a last-call dance with you
I’ve seen all the angles from my place
I know how the deck gets stacked
Give ‘em one ounce of hope
Give ‘em just enough rope
And that’s the way this club’s always packed
But everybody’s wanting the same thing
don’t know what the hell I’m fighting this for
Have I lost my mind did we all go blind
So tired of this revolving door
But maybe this time, it’s different
I could play the fool
Gimme one more glance
I could take a chance
On a last-call dance with you
‘Cause I don’t care no more
I’ll meet you on the floor
for a last-call dance with you
