I've been through so many phases in my musical history, that it feels like I've worn all my influences on my sleeve at one point or another. In discussing this with Molly, though, I was surprised to learn that she doesn't hear much of anything in this particular band's sound in my own music. That was all I needed to send me down this path!
This definitely came off as more of a pastiche than I was hoping, but it sure was fun to do!
lyrics
we catch the morning rays for evening
we catch the moonlight in a bowl
all the morning glories
all the also-rans
all the cats and kittens
all the frying pans
careful conversations creeping
cross the garden fence in fits
for the place reminders
for the nothing words
for the pleasant passage
for the hummingbirds
rise, shine
very fine
as day is long
earth turns
day adjourns
she breathes belong
this morning's song
we catch the train of thought in station
we wait for steam, we wait for speed
embrace the possible
embrace the ready-made
release the obstacles
release the hand grenade
rise, shine
very fine
as day is long
earth turns
day adjourns
she breathes belong
this morning's song
