This song made me realize that I definitely have songwriting ruts that I need to break. But it's hard to change them when you're trying to finish something quickly -again. Plus internet issues make me cranky due to loss of sleep! Aargh!!
lyrics
Two kids at midnight
Heads on the lawn, eyes on the stars above
Like Mars and Venus
Nothing between us but our love so far
We rambled through the dark and tried to find our way
Intent to save the spark but some things fade away
Like falling stars
I don’t know
How to pass the test of time
All I know
Is the past can haunt your mind
I was yours
You were mine
I never should’ve let you go
Now we’re just strangers
Fell out of touch, fell out of time
For so long
The scenery changes
Life rearranges all the signs
You move on
I thought I saw you walking through an empty space
I ran to find you there but someone changed your face
From right to wrong
I don’t know
How to pass the test of time
All I know
Is the past can haunt your mind
I was yours
You were mine
I never should’ve let you go
And when the memories taunt me- you’re all I see
Crushed by the ghost of last summer – and what used to be
I don’t know
How to pass the test of time
All I know
Is the past can haunt your mind
I was yours
You were mine
I never should’ve let you go
